Bespoke Fake Grass Installations in Greenwich

We specialize in installing highly realistic artificial grass that perfectly complements the aesthetics of Greenwich properties.

Shaded Mud & Moss in Conservation Courtyards

The Problem: High historic brick walls create permanent shade, turning natural grass into damp, mossy mud in SE10 courtyards.

Our Fix: We replace worn grass with high-density, realistic 35mm artificial turf installed over a free-draining aggregate sub-base.

Clay Waterlogging & Poor Urban Drainage

The Problem: Heavy SE10 clay sub-soil prevents rainwater drainage, creating standing puddles in enclosed period gardens.

Our Fix: We excavate 75–100mm, lay geotextile membrane, and compact free-draining granite dust over MOT Type 1 aggregate.

Pet Odour & Drainage in Enclosed Spaces

The Problem: Enclosed period gardens struggle with airflow and urine odour when pet waste cannot drain.

Our Fix: We use non-absorbent polyurethane-backed turf and antimicrobial infill for fresh, odor-free outdoor living.

Our Artificial Grass Installation Process

STEP 1

Site Assessment & Clearance

We check drainage, access, and the existing surface, then strip back turf, roots, and debris to bare ground.

STEP 2

Excavation

We dig out to the correct depth so the finished sub-base sits level with surrounding paving or lawn edges.

STEP 3

Sub-Base & Drainage

We compact a permeable aggregate sub-base and fit a weed-suppressing membrane so water drains freely and weeds can't push through from below.

STEP 4

Levelling & Blinding

We add a fine sand or granite dust blinding layer and screed it level for a smooth, even base.

STEP 5

Laying & Seaming

We roll out the turf, join sections with tight, near-invisible seams, and secure every edge to timber or concrete edging.

STEP 6

Brushing & Infill

We brush the pile upright and work in sand infill where needed so the fibres stand up and drain properly.

Preparation & Aftercare

Site Preparation

Clear the area of existing grass, weeds, roots, stones, and debris before starting any installation. Then level the ground, improve the soil or base as needed, and make sure the surface is firm but not compacted so the new finish sits properly. Good preparation is the difference between a lawn that settles well and one that sinks, shifts, or looks uneven later.

For artificial grass: Excavate the area and install a compacted sub-base with proper drainage before laying the artificial grass. A weed membrane is usually added above the base to reduce weed growth, and a levelling layer helps create a smooth finish. The base must be stable and even, because artificial grass relies on the groundwork rather than root growth.

Artificial Grass Aftercare

Artificial grass needs far less aftercare than natural turf, but it should still be brushed, cleaned, and checked regularly to keep it looking its best. Remove leaves and debris, rinse away dirt when needed, and keep edges and joints free from weed growth or movement so the finish stays neat over time. If your install uses infill, it should be topped up or redistributed when necessary to help the pile stay upright and even.

Artificial Grass Questions We Hear Across Greenwich

Are there restrictions on installing artificial grass in Greenwich Conservation Areas?
Artificial turf installed in private rear gardens generally does not require planning permission. We ensure materials and edge finishes respect period architecture in SE10.
Does artificial grass drain properly on Greenwich clay soil?
Yes, when installed with our engineered sub-base. The perforated polyurethane turf backing lets rainwater drain straight through into the free-draining aggregate base below rather than pooling on the surface.
How do you clean pet urine from artificial grass in Greenwich SE10?
Rainfall naturally washes waste through the permeable backing. For heavy use, a quick rinse with water or enzymatic pet cleaner keeps it fresh.
What is the lifespan of artificial grass in Greenwich?
A premium installation with a compacted aggregate sub-base and quality UV-stabilized yarn will last 15 to 20 years with minimal care.
Does artificial grass get hot in the summer in Greenwich?
Synthetic turf absorbs heat, but modern C-shaped yarns reduce surface temperatures. Rinsing with cold water cools the lawn rapidly on hot summer days.
Can artificial grass be installed over an existing Greenwich concrete patio?
Yes. We install a shock-pad drainage layer over concrete before laying turf, ensuring soft underfoot feel and proper surface runoff.
